EDC WEBINAR: Protecting Our Coast from Another Oil Spill – Stopping Sable

COST: [Free]
Organizer: Environmental Defense Center
Posted by:EDC
For more than 45 years, the Environmental Defense Center has been working to protect our climate, wildlife, and the environment from the threats of oil development. We were some of the first people at the scene of the 2015 oil spill at Refugio Beach, and we are working hard to ensure that does not happen again.

Please join EDC’s Chief Counsel, Linda Krop, and Staff Attorney, Jeremy Frankel, for a special lunch time webinar on Tuesday, November 19th at noon.

Sable, a fly-by-night company from Texas, is attempting to restart the same corroded pipeline that ruptured in 2015, causing one of the biggest oil spills in California history, without any environmental review. EDC has been fighting to stop the restart of the pipelines and other equipment formerly owned by ExxonMobil, including three offshore platforms and the Las Flores Canyon processing facility. Sable has told its investors that it plans to restart the pipeline before the end of the year. This is an urgent threat to our coast and communities, and EDC is working deligentlly on behalf of our clients, Get Oil Out! and SBCAN, to ensure this pipeline does not restart.

Please take a moment and register for this webinar today to secure a space for what will be a very informative talk about the many different angles EDC is taking to prevent this dangerous restart.
