The Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara to Award $685,000 in Grants to Local Nonprofits Via Live Virtual Event on May 6

SANTA BARBARA, CA — For 16 years, the generous women of the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara have been combining their charitable dollars into significant grants that focus on serving the needs of women, children and families in Santa Barbara, Goleta and Carpinteria.  Since 2004, the Women’s Fund has awarded more than $7.2 million to local nonprofits – and that total is about to go up to nearly $8 million.

“The Women’s Fund educates and inspires women to engage in making lasting change in our community,” said Board Chair Laurie Tumbler. “Thanks to our generous 1,100 members, we are about to award $685,000 in grants to nine local nonprofits, supporting their relevant and transformative services to our community,” said Tumbler.

The Women’s Fund will announce the new recipients at a Virtual Celebration of Grants to be held online on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 5 pm. “This exciting event will provide a virtual window into the ongoing work and valuable service of the nonprofit organizations Women’s Fund members voted to support following our rigorous independent research process,” said Tumbler.

This virtual event is free and open to Women’s Fund members and their guests. Registration opens on April 20, 2020. Registered attendees will receive a link to access the live virtual event by computer or a mobile device. The event will also be recorded. For questions, contact: wfsb.media@gmail.com.
