The Lompoc Family YMCA is accepting registrations, sponsorships and donations for the 17th Annual “Kid’s For Character” Golf Tournament, “The Ketrenia Klassic” in memory of the late Ketrenia Hall.

This premier charity event tournament will be held at Village Country Club on Friday, July 22, 2016.  Dinner, awards, raffle, and a live and silent auction will promptly follow the tournament.  This event provides funds to support Lompoc Valley youth and families taking part in life changing YMCA camps, programs, and membership opportunities.

This year, the event will be in memory of Ketrenia Hall, the late wife of Lompoc Family YMCA Board Member James M. Hall. Ketrenia Hall, who passed away in 2013, was named Channel Islands YMCA Golden Triangle Award winner in 2002 for her various roles as a volunteer. She was also Lompoc Woman of the Year in 2011 and volunteered with La Purisima Concepcion Catholic Church. She was a member of the Human Services Commission and Beta Sigma Phi.  She also was a California Certified Legal Secretary and worked with her husband in his law practice.

“The Y appreciates the opportunity to recognize Ketrenia Hall at this year’s tournament.  Ketrenia and the entire Hall family have shared an incredible amount of time and their talents with the YMCA over the years and we appreciate the opportunity to recognize and thank them for their service,” shares Tommy Speidel, YMCA Executive Director.

The Lompoc Family YMCA has an over 30-year history of building the spirit, mind, and body of children, adults, and families in the greater Lompoc Valley of California.  The Y continues to offer wide-ranging program offerings including childcare, fitness classes, senior programs/activities and teen/youth programs.  In 2014-15, more than 3,800 individuals participated in Lompoc Family YMCA life changing programs and membership while delivering more than $103,000 in scholarships to families and children.

The Lompoc Family YMCA is located at 201 W. College Ave in Lompoc, CA.  The Y recently underwent major renovations in order to better serve the Lompoc community better. The renovations include: an expanded and updated wellness center, newly improved group exercise center, new youth development center, new social center, and a new cycling studio. The new state-of-the-art facility will help the Y meet the community’s growing need for a place for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility for all.
