The 28th Annual Senior Expo of Santa Barbara, the largest event of its kind in our area, is introducing the first-ever showcase of volunteer opportunities and activities geared toward keeping seniors active and involved in their community. This is a great opportunity to reach over 1,000 seniors and their caregivers who attend the Expo each year seeking information about services and activities that enrich their lives.
“We have a growing and diverse senior population in this community and a large number of caregivers and family members who benefit from all that the Expo has to offer,” said Lisa Brabo, Executive Director of Family Service Agency which began presenting the nonprofit event in 2015. “We are inviting community organizations, activity groups and social clubs to p the showcase as an opportunity to recruit members and involve local seniors in a wide variety of activities.”
Senior Expo of Santa Barbara will take place at Earl Warren Showgrounds on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Senior Volunteer and Activities Showcase will allow as many as 100 area organizations to promote a wide range of volunteer programs and other free activities available to seniors. Organizations seeking volunteers or those offering free programs or activities available to seniors and their caregivers can learn more about the Senior Volunteer Showcase by calling Senior Expo Director Christopher Williams at 805-705-3433 or registering online.
