The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara has received 3,615 applications for financial aid in the 2019-20 academic year. The applications are currently under review, and awardees will be announced in May. Last year the Foundation awarded $8.32 million to 2,620 students throughout Santa Barbara County.
“The need for financial aid to offset the costs of postsecondary education is clearly great throughout the region. We take great pride in carefully evaluating applications and awarding scholarships to deserving students in the communities we serve,” said Victoria Juarez, president and CEO of the Scholarship Foundation. “We expect to interview more than 1,400 students in March with the help of nearly 200 dedicated volunteers.”
