June 11, 2018 – If you’re looking to adopt a cat, June is the time – it’s National Adopt-a-Cat Month. Stop by the Santa Barbara Humane Society where you can meet cats ready for adoption and play some JeoPURRRdy! Choose your CATegory and test your knowledge of feline history, behavior, health and cats in popular culture for a chance of winning discounted adoption fees. Adoption fees start at $60 for adults and $120 for kittens.
As three cat adopters have already found out this June, the adoption process at the Santa Barbara Humane Society is simple and streamlined. If you see a cat that you are interested in getting to know and possibly adopting, ask to fill out a visitation form so that both of you may get acquainted. The shelter office staff will be more than happy to answer any questions regarding whichever cat you are interested in.
If you decide to move forward with a cat adoption after a visit or two, Humane Society staff will meet with you to talk more about compatibility as far as what the cat may need and what expectations could be like for the particular cat. The Humane Society provides support, tools, education and answers for any of the questions you may have as far as what goes into a lifetime commitment of owning each individual cat.
