This Bonus Event leading up to PGIAA’s Alumni Weekend January 17th – 19th features an exciting program with Ryan Zervakos, Relationship Manager with LinkedIn.
Pacifica students, alumni, and community members curious about how to launch themselves into a new field or role now have an opportunity to explore their next career steps with the help of LinkedIn, “the world’s largest professional network with nearly 660+ million users in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.”
On Thursday, January 16, 2020, Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association (PGIAA) and LinkedIn will team up to present “ARE YOU READY?” a free career workshop for Pacifica students, alumni, and the public. Taking place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Pacifica Graduate Institute’s Barrett Center, 801 Ladera Lane, Santa Barbara, CA, the event includes lunch, nutrition breaks, and raffle prizes. Seating is limited; register at PGIAA.org or cominghometopacifica.org.
Ryan Zervakos, LinkedIn’s Relationship Manager, is a leader in providing cutting-edge advice to students emerging into the professional world as well as making career change. During the all-day workshop, he will support attendees in exploring topics that include strategic planning, building your compass (Journey), writing an effective resume, highlighting your professional skill set, and maximizing online presence. He will pay particular attention to demonstrating how the LinkedIn platform is a powerful tool for career advancement, network building, and job searching.
According to Diane Travis-Teague, PGIAA Director of Alumni Relations, “This ‘lunch and learn’ career workshop leads up to PGIAA’s annual “Coming Home” Alumni Weekend taking place on Friday, January 17th to Sunday, January 19th on our beautiful campus. We are pleased to partner with LinkedIn and showcase Mr. Zervakos’s expertise in order to give our students, alumni, and community the very best tools they need to create a sustainable life and work where they can thrive.”
“These past few years with LinkedIn have given me an opportunity I never could have imagined,” said Zervakos. “Yes, working for LinkedIn is great, but the best part about my job is getting to work within the higher education system, meeting bright, hard-working students, and generous faculty and administrators. For those of you that know me, you know how passionate I am about LinkedIn and how our platform can level the playing field. With LinkedIn Learning, we are now positioned to change the game for anyone needing to upskill. I’m looking forward to what LinkedIn and LinkedIn Learning have in store for Pacifica Graduate Institute students and alums.”
