Carpinteria

C3H –  Carpinteria Outreach Navigator Half-Time 

Member will participate in street outreach to assist individuals experience homelessness along the path of acquiring permanent housing.  Ideal candidate is self-motivated, can take instruction and work with little supervision, knows Carpinteria. Members will receive $654/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. 900 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017. ~22 hours per week. Members are eligible to receive a $2,887 education award upon completion of their term.

Lompoc

Good Samaritan Bridge House Lompoc – Housing Placement Specialist Full-Time: Candidate will assist shelter residents with applying for public benefits, accessing community resources and transitioning into permanent housing. Training will be provided by AmeriCorps and Good Samaritan. Ideal candidate will have access to personal vehicle, but not required.  Member will receive a $1236/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. Health & Childcare benefits available. 1700 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017. ~40 hours per week. Members are eligible to receive a $5,775 education award upon completion of their term.

Good Samaritan Bridge House Lompoc – Volunteer Coordinator Quarter-Time: Bridge House Volunteer Coordinator. Member will be responsible for recruiting volunteers and coordinating weekly dinners provided at Bridge House Shelter. Members will receive a $326/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. 450 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017 ~10 hours per week. Flexible scheduling. Members are eligible to receive a $1,527 education award upon completion of their term.

Santa Barbara

Doctor’s Without Wall’s – Santa Barbara Companion Care Driver  Half-Time: Member will participate in a pilot program with Doctor’s Without Walls assisting individuals recently housed attend medical appointments.  Individual will be responsible for all aspects of medical appointment attendance, record keeping and follow up. Member will also participate in community clinics serving individuals experiencing homelessness. Candidate must be 21 years of age with a clean driving record. Ideal candidate will have some case management/client care experience, strong communication skills and work very well in a team. Members will receive $654/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. 900 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017. ~22 hours per week. Members are eligible to receive a $2,887 education award upon completion of their term.

Mental Wellness Center – Santa Barbara Housing Placement Specialist Half-Time (2) : The Mental Wellness Center is seeking two members to serve in their Resource Learning Center. Member will assist individuals with persistent mental illness access community resources and seek housing. Training will be provided by the Mental Wellness Center as well as AmeriCorps. Ideal candidate will have experience working with people with mental health struggles. Hours are approximately 9am – 2pm Monday – Friday. Members will receive $654/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. 900 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017. ~22 hours per week. Members are eligible to receive a $2,887 education award upon completion of their term.

Santa Maria & Orcutt

Good Samaritan Santa Maria Shelter Housing Placement Specialist Half-Time: Candidate will assist shelter residents with applying for public benefits, accessing community resources and transitioning into permanent housing. Training will be provided by AmeriCorps and Good Samaritan. Ideal candidate is self-motivated, can take instruction and work with little supervision, access to personal vehicle is a plus but not required.  Hours are flexible. Members will receive $654/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. 900 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017. ~22 hours per week. Members are eligible to receive a $2,887 education award upon completion of their term.

Good Samaritan Freedom House Orcutt – Housing Retention Specialist Half-Time: Member will provide 6 male, veteran residents with case management services in order to gain and retain their benefits and housing. He will also assist with house management. Flexible scheduling, some evening and weekend hours. Seeking male veteran. Members will receive $654/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. 900 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017. ~22 hours per week. Members are eligible to receive a $2,887 education award upon completion of their term.

Landlord Liaison Project (LLP) – North SB County –  Housing Placement Specialist Half-Time: Candidate will assist identified individuals and families acquire appropriate housing in Northern SB County. LLP case manager will train AmeriCorps member in housing acquisition strategies and goals as well as available community resources. Member will receive a $654/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. 900 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017/~22hours per week. Members are eligible for a $2,887 education award upon completion of their term. Ideal candidate is self-motivated, can work with little supervision, will have use of a personal vehicle, and is Spanish bilingual.   

County Housing Authority Santa Maria – Full-Time Housing Placement/Retention Specialist: Assist people experiencing homelessness apply for public benefits, including veteran benefits, access community resources and transitioning into permanent Housing Authority housing. Training will be provided by AmeriCorps and HACSB. Ideal candidate is self-motivated, can take instruction and work with little supervision, access to personal vehicle is a plus but not required.  Member will receive a $1236/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. Health & Childcare benefits available. 1700 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017/~40 hours per week. Members are eligible for a $5,775 education award upon completion of their term.

Probation Day Reporting Center Santa Maria– Outreach/Housing Specialist Full-Time: Member will assist probationers experiencing homelessness at the Day Reporting Center with acquiring benefits, adhering to aspects of probation, attending medical appointments, applying for transitional housing and other necessary steps to acquire permanent housing. Ideal candidate will have no felony charges in their criminal history, is comfortable working with people with a criminal history and is self-motivated. Member will receive a $1236/month living allowance paid 1st & 16th of each month. Health & Childcare benefits available. 1700 hours must be completed by August 31st 2017. ~40 hours per week. Members are eligible to receive a $5,775 education award upon completion of their term.
