NPRN Visits Youth Interactive’s New Home – Nonprofit Office Space Available!

I ran into Ryan Muzzy from Youth Interactive who excitedly shared the news about their new home on State Street.  We took some time a couple of weeks ago to meet with Estrella Campos, Co-lab Operations Manager and Ryan to tour their new home.

1218 State Street is the former home of the Unity Shoppe. With the deep support of Hutton Parker Foundation, today is the exciting new home of Youth Interactive (YI).  Let’s start by checking out YI’s mission as it informs their expansive vision at this new home:

“YOUTH INTERACTIVE OFFERS A NEW KIND OF EDUCATIONAL APPROACH, ONE THAT MEETS THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS AND THE DEMANDS OF LIFE IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY. WE CREATE YOUTH LED BUSINESSES AND MENTOR STUDENTS’ CREATIVITY TO HELP IGNITE THEIR IMAGINATION AND PROVIDE THEM WITH NEW OPPORTUNITIES TO DEVELOP THE LIFE SKILLS NEEDED TO SUCCEED BEYOND SCHOOL.

OUR GOAL IS TO BRIDGE OPPORTUNITY AND SOCIAL DIVISIONS BY PROVIDING CREATIVE YOUNG ADULTS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE WITH THE KEYS TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY.”

As you walk into the new building, you step into their store front where attractive products from local artisans and YI students alike pique the interest of State Street visitors.  Up on the walls on our visit is the art work of Jack Miles, a YI student who’s imaginative art work is already being featured by other brands.  After passing through the store, we pass into the maker’s workshop where YI students have an expansive area to create whatever they put their mind to. This area bleeds into a larger area available for meetings and gatherings (see photo above).

With over 13,000 feet of commercial space, Youth Interactive is designing a space for makers, for meetings, for gatherings, for office rentals, and more.

One of the key aspects we wanted to highlight was the beautiful new office space that Youth Interactive is offering for other youth serving organizations in the region. These office spaces offer excellent amenities, a central location, and a work environment with fellow youth serving organizations. For those not interested in their own private office, YI is offering co-working membership space as well.
