Architectural Foundation of SB
Physical structures both reflect and affect who we are as individuals and communities. The Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara invites you to experience some of Santa Barbara’s finest designs and gain a better appreciation for the inspiration that our built environment offers our everyday lives. Since its founding in 1983, the Architectural Foundation (AFSB) has pursued a mission of promoting an awareness and appreciation of the architecture and built environment that makes Santa Barbara County such a unique place to live. AFSB’s successful programs and activities reach out to all parts of our community through school-based programs (BEEP), lectures, and scholarships that support the education of our next generation of architects and design professionals. The Foundation’s Kids Draw Architecture Program, the High School Design Competition, and the popular weekend architectural walking tours are made possible by foundation members who volunteer their time, energy, and enthusiasm to build awareness and appreciation for architecture & design as key elements in creating a viable community.
