We are thrilled to welcome Victoria Juarez to our board of directors. She is the executive director of Girls Inc. of Carpinteria, an organization that seeks to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold. She brings 18 years of community and nonprofit experience. She is interested in creating opportunities and resources for girls to learn and grow, to navigate the unique challenges they face growing up, and to discover their potential as leaders with the courage and vision to change the world. She is an alum of the Katherine Harvey Fellows program and the Courage to Lead program for non-profit leaders.
We are also pleased to announce that Lois Mitchell has joined our board. For the last 15 years Lois led the Orfalea Foundation, directing a 20+ member team through innovative collaborations, strategic initiatives and an intentional fiscal and organizational spend-down. Her leadership created a culture known for thoughtful listening, removing obstacles and offering strong tactical support. Lois balances vision, creativity and leveraging with operationally measurable and quantifiable responses to opportunities and challenges.
