Program & Communications Coordinator

This position delves into the dual role of being both a program specialist and communications coordinator.

Program Specialists assist in developing, planning, and leading fun program activities for our members. They perform a variety of functions related to the overall operation of our centers including assisting with activities like musical entertainment and sing-alongs, outings, food service, and special events. Assistance with personal care including bath rooming, companionship, and some maintenance and cleaning are also required.

Ideal program specialists are compassionate individuals who enjoy working with older adults, have positive and effective communication skills, work well with other staff, members, volunteers, and families, have a can-do attitude, and pitch in to do whatever is needed.

An ideal communications coordinator is compassionate, enjoys working with others, has positive and effective communication skills (in person, on the phone, written, and via virtual platforms), works well with other staff, members, volunteers, and families, has a can-do attitude, and is highly technologically literate. Communications responsibilities include; E-Newsletter: design and content creation, blogs on website, grant narratives, press releases as requested, update of social media content.

Note: During the COVID-19 pandemic, Program Staff also lead activities via Zoom platform. Mask wearing, sanitization, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination and/or exemption is required.

Requirements include First Aid and CPR certification, physical exam and TB clearance, a clean driving record, valid driver’s license and insurance, and fingerprint clearance. Experience caring for elders or those with disabilities preferred.

This position includes work in-person at our Montecito Center for 30-35 per week with hours varying Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm. No nights or weekends!

Salary range: $20 to $24/hour DOE
