The Position:
The Marketing Specialist is an integral part of the Development team, supporting FSA’s communications, marketing and fundraising activities through the implementation of innovative campaigns that reach target audiences across a variety of media channels. The Marketing Specialist reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager. This position offers the opportunity for career growth.

The Marketing Specialist can be based out of any of FSA’s offices in Guadalupe, Santa Maria, Lompoc, or Santa Barbara. Please note that while the possibility of some remote work is available, a successful applicant will also need to be available to travel county-wide as needed.

Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and produce various marketing materials: publications, direct mail, digital and print advertising.
2. Create marketing campaign content such as graphics, blog posts, and social media posts.
3. Maintain and update web properties, digital profiles and social media channels.
4. Collaborate with other departments to generate effective social media content, identify key players and coordinate actions.
5. Maximize SEO and other search marketing opportunities.
6. Support Development Department activities and events.
7. Assist the Communications Manager with media relations, strategic planning, and branding activities.
8. Maintain and develop effective working relationships with vendors and volunteers.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements:
1. College degree required and at least two years of marketing experience preferred.
2. Must be detail-oriented and have strong interpersonal skills.
3. Excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills.
4. Experience with Google Ads, Adobe CC and WordPress or other CMS system preferred.
5. Valid CA Driver’s License and vehicle required.
6. Reliable transportation is necessary to travel throughout Santa Barbara County.

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:
• This position is flexible as we are looking for someone to work 30-40 hours/week. This position is non-exempt, and benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave also provided.
• Pay rate is dependent on experience; up to $28/hour.
