Position:             Program Coordinator, Santa Ynez Valley

Type:                   Part-time/work-from-home position, with in-person team meetings/events

Starting Pay:      $18/hr

The Program Coordinator organizes cooking classes in the Santa Ynez Valley for Apples to Zucchini Cooking School. In this position you will support culinary educators, class assistants, and volunteers along with the local schools and community partners to implement useful hands-on cooking classes, teaching children how to prepare nutritious, delicious, and affordable meals made from real food. The goal of these cooking classes is to introduce kids to foods they may not be familiar with, teach them how to cook a new recipe, and have them try healthy food that may become a new part of their diet. The Program Coordinator responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:

Create and maintain a calendar/schedule for each session
Recruit, train and retain chef educators, volunteers and school sites
Organize database to schedule culinary educators, volunteers, and classroom assistants
Coordinate the following aspects of implementing programming:
Laundry Service
Farmer’s market ordering, pick up, and delivery
Storage inventory to chefs during the session (oven, sushi kit, etc)
Recipe distribution/access
Photography coordination and delivery


Prior experience working as a Program Coordinator or equivalent in a relevant field
Ability to work independently
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to connect with culinary educators, class assistants, and volunteers
Exceptional time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
Sharp attention to detail with an  ability to multitask
Reliable and diligent worker
Able to deliver positive food messages
Proficient with computer technology and Microsoft Office applications
Available in the afternoons, when classes will be conducted.
Well-connected with non-profits in the Santa Ynez Valley
