Washer Water to Power Plants hands-on workshop
March 2 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
This is the third event in the Women’s EmPOWERment series. For this pilot series, we request that only women attend. Washer water powers plants hands-on workshop is an installation of a Laundry to Landscape greywater system. The workshop is free; however, you need to register in advance online. Register now for this workshop.
Sweetwater laundry to landscape workshops start right next to the washer, where we’ll learn how to attach the discharge hose to the three way valve and then send the water out to the landscape. Measuring, drilling, and cutting and gluing pipe are some of the skills we’ll use as we direct the laundry waste water to be used in the garden. Flexible polyline is the preferred method of transporting the water once it’s outside. We’ll form mulch basins and then run the tubing into them, and put the outlets in valve boxes to keep the greywater right where it’ll be best used. Groups of participants will take turns working on both the plumbing and in the garden.
