Sixth Annual Santa Barbara Botanic Garden Conservation Symposium
October 13, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The Annual Santa Barbara Botanic Garden Conservation Symposium, established in 2012, addresses topics that are critical to environmental conservation in our region, as well as nationally and internationally. The keynote speaker is the winner of that year’s Pritzlaff Conservation Award, which is given to a global trailblazer in conservation. At this year’s symposium, Pritzlaff Conservation Awardee and Keynote, Dr. Susan Mazer, Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and additional expert speakers will provide a well-rounded discussion on the topic: ‘Innovative Ways of Exploring Biodiversity: Embracing Big Data, Technology, and Citizen Science.’ Thanks to generous support from the Santa Barbara City College Foundation, admission is covered for students who wish to attend the symposium.
