Inaugural ‘Your Brain Matters’ High Tea

The Alzheimer’s Women’s Initiative, Ventura County, led by Honorary Chair Lynne Andujar and Chair Cindy Morrison, with the Alzheimer’s Association California Central Chapter, presents the Inaugural ‘Your Brain Matters’ High Tea at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village on Saturday, May 19, 2018, from noon to 3 p.m. The event will revolve around the importance of brain health and longevity, and honor caregivers who care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. This year’s recipient of the Alzheimer’s Leadership Award is Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who will also be the keynote speaker.
Scientific Speaker Dr. Kathleen Hayden, of Wake Forest University, will present on the link between the MIND diet and reducing the risk of dementia. Pam Montana, member of the Alzheimer’s Association National Board of Directors and younger-onset Alzheimer’s expert & advocate for the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement Scientific Advisory Council, will present on living with Alzheimer’s.
“In Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, more than 29,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s,” said Rhonda Spiegel, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association California Central Chapter. “Women are disproportionately affected by the disease.”
Beginning at noon, the high tea will feature the opportunity to win 2 VIP passes and backstage passes to a Brad Paisley concert, extraordinary raffle prizes and “Memories in the Making,” art created by men and women living with Alzheimer’s disease that will be available for donation.
