The art sale begins at 2 pm on Friday through 5 pm on Saturday

With Artist’s Reception on Friday from 5-8 pm (silent auction: 2 – 7 pm)

Live music, appetizers and local wines at the free reception with silent auction and a raffle for an overnight stay and spa treatment at the five-star Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara

and Saturday, 3/31/18, from 10 am – 5 pm

2018 Visions of the Gaviota Coast

(Santa Barbara, CA, February 27, 2018) More than 150 Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment (SCAPE) artists and fine art photographer Reeve Woolpert will participate with this sixth annual benefit art exhibition showcasing the stunning Gaviota Coast. Painter and exhibit juror Rick Schloss has many years of collaboration with the renowned Oak Group artists. The funds raised will assist Gaviota Coast Conservancy and the Naples Coalition in continuing their successful efforts to protect this majestic 72 miles of open coastline, providing a pristine habitat for over 1,400 species, including the endangered snowy plover. Forty percent of all art sales will benefit the two non-profit organizations.

Raffle Prize: one-night stay at Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara with a Spa treatment (no need to be present to win)

The benefit art sale goes from Friday, 3/30 at 2 pm through Saturday, 3/31 at 5 pm. The two-day exhibit features a reception on Friday (5 – 8 pm) with live music, silent auction, appetizers and wine with donation. 

Gaviota Coast Conservancy and Naples Coalition have recently achieved big victories towards the protection and preservation of the Gaviota Coast.

About the exhibition partners:

SCAPE (Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment) was founded in 2002 and has over 200 members, a diverse group of artists committed to raising money through their exhibitions to protect open spaces, increase public awareness of environmental and conservation issues. SCAPE also promotes education through workshops. Membership is open to everyone. Members can participate in the Paint-Outs, workshops and exhibitions.

Gaviota Coast Conservancy is dedicated to protecting the rural character and environmental integrity of the Gaviota Coast for present and future generations.

Naples Coalition is a Santa Barbara, California-based nonprofit that includes leadership from several local non-profit groups, including the Gaviota Coast Conservancy, Los Padres Chapter of the Sierra Club, Santa Barbara Chapter of Surfrider Foundation, Santa Barbara Chapter of the Audubon Society, Citizens Planning Association of Santa Barbara County, Santa Barbara County Action Network, and the League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara. The Naples Coalition is dedicated to the preservation of the rural character of the Naples property on the Gaviota Coast.

The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara believes hospitality and community service go hand-in-hand. In that spirit, Bacara has instituted “Hearts of Bacara,” a comprehensive program comprised of community partnerships, in-kind donations, cash contributions and volunteered time and talent. To this effect, Bacara has included the Gaviota Coast Conservancy and the Naples Coalition as two of its core community partners, supporting them by hosting this SCAPE fundraising event and other events. The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara, supports the Gaviota Coast Conservancy and Naples Coalition through educational outreach, fundraisers, art exhibitions, beach cleanups and the resort’s annual holiday tree, which pays homage to the beautiful coastline.
