SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Feb. 8, 2018 – Domestic Violence Solutions (DVS) for Santa Barbara County is pleased to announce their upcoming 10th Annual Luncheon – Rising from the Ashes, Stories of Resilience.
The luncheon will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2018, 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Hotel Californian, and will raise awareness and funds to support domestic violence victims and their families.
The event will be an afternoon filled with celebration and inspiration, highlighting impassioned and uplifting stories of resilience. This year’s honorees are the law enforcement agencies of Santa Barbara County.
DVS is excited to announce inspirational passion speaker, Kenneth Cumbie. He is a former DVS emergency shelter client and is passionate about giving back to his community. He strives to give a voice to all victims of domestic violence by sharing his story and teaching methods of resilience.

Domestic Violence Solutions for Santa Barbara County is the county’s only full-service domestic violence agency, committed to ending the intergenerational cycle of domestic violence through prevention and intervention services, and through challenging society’s attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors to effect social change. DVS provides the county’s only 24-hour shelter services for victims and their children, as well as transitional housing programs for domestic violence survivors. DVS also operates four 24-hour hotlines; accompanies law enforcement on domestic violence calls; works to prevent domestic violence through teen outreach and education programs; and provides comprehensive counseling services to men, women, and children affected by domestic violence.
