Conflict Solutions Center Appoints Lizzie Rodriguez as Co-Executive Director (South County)
Conflict Solutions Center is proud to announce the appointment of Lizzie Rodriguez as the Co-Executive Director for South County Santa Barbara. Joining Kimberly Rosa, Co-Executive Director for North County Santa Barbara, Lizzie has a passion for the potential that mediation and restorative practices hold to transform the divisions caused by conflict and violence. “I believe that the human condition yearns for a peaceful resolution to conflict. As mediators we look for that moment of understanding between one another to bridge the gap of disconnection, reaching a place of restored trust and resolution”.
Lizzie brings a rich understanding of the complexities associated with conflict transformation. As a volunteer with the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP), she has facilitated skill building workshops in the California Men’s Colony prison, Santa Barbara Juvenile Probation, and many other diverse community settings. She has traveled to Rwanda, providing post genocide peace building workshops with the Healing and Rebuilding Our Communities trauma healing and reconciliation program. Lizzie earned her Master’s Degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute’s Depth Psychology Program and is pursuing a PhD with an emphasis in Community Psychology, Liberation Psychology, and Ecopsychology. Her current research is focused on measuring the sustainable impact that trauma healing and reconciliation programs have on the wellbeing of individuals and communities in post-conflict settings. “I value the wisdom obtained through stories of healing and strength as we strive to create and live in a world with less violence”.
