From 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 the Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) and the Channel City Club will host a luncheon and present a unique remembrance in honor of the centennial of World War I – “Over There – WWI 100 Years On.”
Guests will hear stories from German, French, British, and American re-enactors as they share troop experiences in the trenches during key battles. The event will feature WWI era music, a history leading up to the war, a discussion of the legacy WWI left and how it impacted the United States’ growth into a world leader.
Consul Generals Henri Vantieghem of Belgium, Mr. James Villeneuve of Canada, and Mr. Christophe Lemoine of France, as well as Gillian Cole-Andrews, a former British Army Captain, will all share their respective countries perspectives on the war.
